EDUCATION SYSTEMS

Study in UK : overview of the education system in the UK is divided into five main sections:

Primary Education

Primary education begins in the UK at age 5 and continues until age 11, comprising key stages one and two under the UK educational system. Please visit the British Council page for more information on primary education.

Secondary Education

From age 11 to 16, students will enter secondary school for key stages three and four and to start their move towards taking the GCSE’s – learn more about secondary education in the UK and what it will involve. Primary and secondary education is mandatory in the UK; after age 16, education is optional.

Further Education

Once a student finishes secondary education they have the option to extend into further education to take their A-Levels, GNVQ’s, BTEC’s or other such qualifications. UK students planning to go to college or university must complete further education.

Higher Education

International students are allowed to open a bank account in the UK, and some universities require their students to have a UK bank account. In any event, a bank account is very helpful to have in managing your finances, So you should plan to open a UK account.

Travelers Checks are useful to make transactions in the UK until you open a bank account in the country. It may take a few weeks of time to open a new UK account and transfer money into it from your home country bank account.

For international students, most of the universities in the UK provide on-campus accommodation, and also a variety of accommodation options are available to you. The college or university usually has halls of residence. If you are not offered on-campus accommodation you can look for other accommodation options that will suit your monthly budget.

Students choose to move into flats/houses in the second or third years of their campus life. If you do move into a flat or house, you will have to sign a tenancy agreement, which is a legal document outlining the terms of the tenancy. Is There Any Ranking Given To UK Universities?

No, there is no official ranking of Universities. Recommendation would depend on your qualifications, grades and courses one wishes to apply to as each institution has different entry requirements.

What Is The Visa Procedure ?

Once the student gets CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies) from the university. He will apply for Student Visa to the nearest Embassy with the necessary documents. Students need to prove that they have an unconditional offer on a full-time course, proof of accommodation, sufficient funds to cover the entire cost of study and living in Britain and that they intend to return home on completion of their course.

What Are The General Requirements To Get The Admission?

Minimum 55% in academics with TOEFL of 213+ or IELTS of 5.0. For MBA a student needs to have 2-3 years of full-time work experience at managerial cadre.
